International Fabric Machines
I worked as a mechanical engineer at International Fabric Machines, a stealth startup working to develop functional fibers for use in wearables. At IFM, I had the chance to assume many different roles; some of my favorite things that I got up to involved:
- root cause analysis for issues in fiber draw production. contacting suppliers and making changes to our processes to increase throughput by 400%
- development of new draw towers; machining parts, tuning controllers, and performing sucessful draws
- development of wire-alignment systems for chip processing
- testing of different wire types and processes using various benchtop level setups
